The event is known as a "Hybrid Eclipse" because the people around the world were also able to see a partial eclipse.
America, Europe and parts of Africa saw a partial eclipse, depending on location.
A total eclipse was visible from northern Kenya this afternoon when the Moon moved in front of the Sun and blocked out the light.
In Kenya, the total eclipse lasted for about 10 seconds.
Experts warned people not to look directly at the sun during the hybrid eclipse without taking safety precautions.
