El objetivo principal de la CTV es contribuir a la difusión del evangelio universal, el uso de la televisión que documenta el ministerio pastoral del Sumo Pontífice y de las actividades de la Sede Apostólica (Estatuto del 1 de junio de 1998). Los principales servicios ofrecidos por CTV son: transmisiones en vivo y diariamente la asistencia, la producción, archivo.

Unos minutos antes de lo fijado en el programa de la visita pastoral a Santiago de Cuba, el Papa Francisco llegó al antiguo Seminario San Basilio Magno de El Cobre, y aquí sostiene un encuentro privado con los obispos.
Justo al bajar del papamóvil y adentrarse en el Seminario, en cuyas cercanías lo esperaban cientos de pobladores, se desató un torrencial aguacero. ”No llovía desde el 8 de septiembre, el Día de la Caridad, y el Papa trajo la lluvia que tanta falta nos hace”, comentó a Cubadebate un santiaguero.
El Sumo Pontífice se dirigirá en breve a la Basílica Menor del Santuario Nacional Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre, para la Oración a la Virgen. Aquí entregará en ofrenda un precioso florero de plata con flores desde el tallo y pétalos de cerámica.
El Sumo Pontífice visita el Santuario donde dará inicio oficialmente al Año Jubilar por el 100 aniversario de la proclamación de la Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre como Patrona de Cuba (1916).
Los enviados especiales de Cubadebate están en El Cobre y pronto ofrecerán más detalles de esta visita.
